This is a short talk below about how we can be filled with The Holy Spirit from our Lead Elder, Russ. We encourage you wherever you are to say come and fill us with Your presence.

We focus on Jesus as the fulfilment of Old Testament promises, the pioneer of the new covenant and our model of a Spirit-filled life.

We look back at this year. This world has gone through some challenging times, but we want to be the hope to restore all that is broken through the Good News.

In the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector Jesus contrasts the attitude of a self-righteous Pharisee with a tax collector who humbly asks for mercy.

Jesus challenges us on the subject of money through a parable. He wants to teach how his followers need to use their finance, as God has given us everything.

In the parable of the lost sheep, we see Jesus upset the pharisees by dining with sinners and tax collectors. They do not realise that Jesus did not come for the saved but for those who need saving.

The Parable of the Great Banquet reveals that our place in the Kingdom is not reliant on our impressive behaviour or social status, but our response to Jesus.

In the parable of The Rich Fool Jesus tells a short story about a man who appeared very successful, but was, in God's estimation, a fool.

In this parable Jesus explains the different types of heart responses we can have when hearing God’s Word and that only one type of heart can bring forth fruit.

What does it mean to share one another’s burdens and successes - both people in our church community and those in the wider community?

Paul gives an instruction so practical that everyone can demonstrate love-in-action: “Practise hospitality.” What could hospitality look like?

Because we are family, equally loved by God, we are to honour one another above ourselves. We look at what honouring one another looks like in practice.

“Who are we?” and “where is our identity?” We look at the baptism of Jesus to see how He identifies with us and then how we can identify with Him.

If “God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit”, what does it look like to practically demonstrate love for others?

Luke 7 shows us not only the power of Jesus, but the depth of his compassion for people. How can we be those who have a heart for others just as Jesus did?

Jesus calls many to follow Him throughout the book of Matthew. We look at what it means to follow Jesus and how we can learn from those who follow Him in the Bible.

David’s heart had been prepared in secret, while tending his father’s sheep, through spending time with God and patiently waiting God’s time to appoint him king.

Christians obey God by the Spirit not by adhering to a written code. How can we co-operate with him in that lifelong process?

To know that we are truly loved and accepted as we are is the most fundamental need of every human being and the Christian, above all others, knows this.
