Journeying deeper into relationship with Father, Son and Spirit.

Jesus loves you passionately and He has amazing plans for your life. The focus of University years can be all about training you for what you’ll do. However, Jesus also has big ambitions about who you become! We believe that your relationship with Him and with others will be a huge determining factor in that.

Citygate Students is for Undergraduates and Masters students, and anyone aged 18-25. If you have any questions at all, please email students@citygate.church.

What we get up to…

  • Teaching

In the last few years, we’ve had speakers from other churches, from the wider Citygate family, from the Student Team and sometimes even our own Students.

A young adult standing in front of a group, holding an open Bible and speaking, while other students listen attentively, capturing a moment of peer-led spiritual teaching.
  • Application

We split into smaller groups, explore scripture and chat, pray and encourage each other as we apply God’s word to our lives.

  • Encounter

There is student-led worship each week, but on Encounter Weeks we have the opportunity to spend more time in the presence of God. We also invite students to share with one another from the front.

  • Social

Once a month is a social! We've done things like ice-skating, BBQs, bowling, games on the beach, meals out and Laser Quest.

Our student team leads

Gordon and Katie Thorn head up our amazing Student Team. They long for each student to go deeper in their experience of God’s transformative and unconditional love.

Top Tip. Impress Gordon with your best dad jokes. He’ll use them on his radio show…he also has a Christian podcast where he interviews pretty cool Christian musicians.

    Alpha

Alpha is a series exploring the Christian faith. We enjoy a meal together, watch a short film about a big faith question and then discuss it together in small groups. Everyone is welcome to come and find out more, say what they think and ask anything!
