Paul details his confrontation with Peter who was not acting in line with the truth of the gospel.

The strength of his words in Galatians reflects how high the stakes were. If the true gospel could not be preserved he says Christ would have died for nothing.

Neither Paul’s mission nor his message was derived from man; both came to him direct from God and Jesus Christ.

Paul warns the Galatians that turning to a ‘different’ gospel is deserting God himself.

Jesus’ death and resurrection makes a way for everyone of us to be welcomed come home.

God’s mission will advance against all the odds and we should not wait for what might appear be more favourable circumstances. Expansion and opposition go hand in hand.

We have been sent to represent Jesus faithfully and obediently and spread the message of salvation.

The church continues the mission of Jesus - to bring light to all people, everywhere.

God’s mission is driven by His compassion and grace, therefore, we too need to be filled with these qualities as we follow His example and help others to know Him.

As Abraham’s descendents were called to be a blessing to all nations, so now, we the church, are called to be a blessing.

As we increasingly share life with people we look for opportunities, 1 Peter 3:15, to “give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

Not only is God loving, he is love. Everything he does is consistent with his love because, unlike us, it is a perfect, permanent part of his character.

Prayer is the starting point of engaging in God’s mission as we align ourselves with his own plan to bless the world and seek him for the fulfilment of that.

It’s important we find our identity not from external influences or internal exploration but from above – a divine declaration of purpose.

Healthy relationships, more than money or fame, are what keep people happy throughout their lives.

The body matters. Not because it is ultimate, but because it is a gift from God and should be used in a godly manner because God lives within us.

The transformative process begins with a mental battle, urging believers not to conform to worldly values but to engage in the renewal of their minds.

Jesus remains our hope for peace - with God, with one another and with ourselves. He is the Prince of Peace.

This is an extraordinary name to give to the child / son, however wonderful he may be. He will not only grow to be the Wonderful Counsellor, He is Mighty God!

Unlike the numerous flawed kings of ancient times, this king, on whose shoulders the government rests, will be the Wonderful Counsellor.
