Maybe you’ve been to church before, or this might be your first time exploring faith. We understand that everyone’s experience is different, and trying something new can feel a bit daunting.

To help make things a little easier, we’ve answered questions people often ask about Citygate. Get in touch with us if you need to know anything else (hello@citygate.church).

FAQs

  • We currently meet on Sundays at two locations:

    • Citygate Bournemouth
      138a Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, BH8 8AS
      (Opposite Bournemouth Travel Interchange. There’s 3 hours of free parking at Asda nearby.)

    • Citygate Southbourne
      Admiralty Road, Bournemouth, BH6 4BJ

    We’re also excited to be planning a new site in Poole soon!

    If you can’t make it in person, you’re very welcome to join us online — our Sunday services are streamed from 11.00am on both our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

  • We’d love for you to join us on a Sunday!
    Here’s when we meet:

    • 9:00am & 11:00am – Citygate Bournemouth

    • 10:30am – Citygate Southbourne

    • Online streaming starts at 11:00am on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

    If you’re coming in person, we recommend arriving about 15 minutes early so you’ve got time to park, grab a coffee, and find a good seat!

  • You are welcome at Citygate just as you are. You'll see people in shirt and tie, in jeans and t-shirt, and everywhere in between!

  • If you’re joining us onsite, feel free to come a little early to connect with others and get settled in. Our friendly Welcome Team will be at the door — they’d love to meet you, especially if it’s your first time at Citygate!

  • You can sit wherever you feel comfortable. If you have difficulty locating a seat or need assistance, our Welcome Team is there to help you.

  • Our meetings usually last around 1.5 hours.
    If you need to step out at any point — whether for the toilet or a quick break — feel free to do so. You're absolutely welcome to come and go as needed!

  • We want your whole family to feel at home at Citygate!
    During our Sunday meetings, we run a variety of fun and engaging activities for children and youth.

    Our Kids Team (you’ll spot them in yellow t-shirts) are always happy to help and answer any questions you might have.

  • Citygate is all about community and growing together.
    We want everyone who comes to feel connected, build friendships, and grow in their love for God and others. That’s why we encourage everyone at Citygate to join a Life Group — small groups that meet in a relaxed setting during the week to share life, faith, and encouragement.

  • You don’t have to be a Christian to come — everyone is welcome!
    Whether you have a different faith background, are exploring spirituality, or just curious, you’re warmly invited to come along and see what we're about.

  • Citygate is a growing church made up of people from different cultures and all walks of life.
    Each Sunday, around 400 people gather at our Bournemouth site, and up to 150 join us in Southbourne — and there’s always room for you!

  • We are an Evangelical church and part of Commission, a global family of churches united by a shared mission to serve and love our communities.

  • Our worship is contemporary and blends modern songs with timeless hymns.

    Get connected

    Welcome to Citygate! We recognise that we’re all at different stages of our journey, and the next step looks different for everyone. So we invite you to journey with us at your own pace.
