Why Should I Care…? | War and Peace
About this series:
Our ‘Why Should I Care?...’ series of talks is aimed at helping both Christians and non-Christians think through a varied series of topics connected with important matters in modern culture. This series will be designed to equip the church while also being accessible to non-Christians.
Our aim is to equip people of all ages with the tools to grapple with and think through complex issues - such as mental health, AI and gender and sexuality - in a biblical way.
About this talk:
The twentieth century is often called the most violent in history, and conflicts persist into the twenty-first century, including cyber and trade wars. Throughout history, Christians have held diverse views on war, from justifying it under certain conditions to embracing pacifism. Jesus came to bring peace between humanity and God, while recognising that conflict would continue until his return. He urged his followers to be peacemakers, to love their neighbours and enemies, and to live peacefully, praying for those in authority. While few can shape global peace, each of us can foster peace in our daily lives.
