Why Should I Care…? | What is Culture?

About this series:

Our ‘Why Should I Care?...’ series of talks is aimed at helping both Christians and non-Christians think through a varied series of topics connected with important matters in modern culture. This series will be designed to equip the church while also being accessible to non-Christians.

Our aim is to equip people of all ages with the tools to grapple with and think through complex issues - such as mental health, AI and gender and sexuality - in a biblical way.

About this talk:

An introduction to what culture is, how it is formed and how we, as Christians, can engage with it.

The cultures of nations, local communities, workplaces, churches and even families have changed enormously in the last few decades. In particular, how should we, as Christians, engage with the culture of the world we live in when there are things we believe passionately in and when some of the ways things are done feel to us to be contradictory to Christian teaching? Should we withdraw from it, be immersed in it, seek to take it over or aim to transform it? Christians have taken different views on this over the centuries.
