The Love of God
Knowing God’s love leads to obedience, which leads further into a desire to be obedient? How, in practice, can we keep ourselves conscious of God’s love for us?
The Father’s Glory
Abiding in Jesus not as a self-centered goal in itself, but as being filled with the life of Jesus so as to know God’s greatness more and to make his greatness known more.
Fruitfulness
What does it look like in practice to remain/abide in Jesus? What are we to make of, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you”?
Under The Gardener’s Knife
What might pruning look and feel like in our lives? How can we be sure to maintain a humble submissive attitude to the Father’s pruning work?
The Gardener
If the Father is the gardener, he is the owner of the vineyard and the one whose reputation is bound up with the vineyard. How do we abide in such a way that he remains our focus and whose glory we seek?
Making Room for People to Belong
The church is intended to be a community, a family, where lonely people can find a place to belong. So why are lonely people not flocking to churches to find family and a place to belong?
The True Vine
How did Jesus live faithfully to the Father’s mission, and was therefore fruitful? What can we do, in practical terms, to remain connected to the vine and ensure his life is flowing through us?
The Climate
We give some examples of the way climate change is a hunger, poverty and inequality issue. What are some achievable steps we can suggest to make a small contribution to tackling climate change?
End of Life
How does the Bible encourage us to view older age? Are there some practical steps we can take to stand up for, or care for, those facing the end of life?
Beginning of Life
Are there some practical steps we can encourage people to take to stand up for those at the beginning of life and those affected by issues they’ve encountered regarding the beginning of life?
Life at Work
Life at work, as with everything else in the Christian’s life, is radically transformed by a Christian’s faith. We look at the attitudes that we should have in the workplace and the unique opportunities granted to us.
A Theology of Work
God gives us reasons for working, without making it the reason. Work, then, becomes an avenue for using the creative opportunities God has given, to serve other people and to love him - all of which we do for his glory.
Time, Treasure, Talents
Peter tells us that, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” It is clear that what God has given to us is not for us, but for the purpose of serving others.
Stewardship
This 11-part series will help us to understand and apply the Bible’s teaching on God’s plan for us to steward the gifts he has given us and therefore the type of people he is calling us to be in our day.
Christian Community
We look at what it means to belong in a Christian community. The book of Acts tells us about the early Christian church, how the believers were in community with each other, and what held them together after Jesus ascended to heaven.
Living Hope
We hear stories of lives transformed, and how future hope can be found in Jesus - no matter our current circumstances.
