Christmas Hamper Appeal

What’s the Christmas Hamper Appeal?

The Christmas Hamper Appeal is in partnership with Bournemouth Foodbank and other local agencies.

Each year we deliver 200 hampers to families in crisis over the Christmas period. Each family will receive everything they need to eat and celebrate together for three days. The hampers include fresh and frozen food, Christmas goodies and a message of hope from the Bible.

Over 6 tonnes of food will go out to feed as many as 1,000 people in need. This is made possible thanks to an incredible amount of support from local churches, businesses and other community groups. This really is a massive team effort!

Who’s it for?

Our hampers are delivered to families in crisis all across the Bournemouth area.

The project is supported by local churches, businesses, charities and community groups as well as local government and healthcare providers. Partners can nominate families, pledge food, recruit drivers and sponsor hampers.

When does it take place?

Every year over the Christmas period.

How can I get involved?

There are lots of ways that you can get involved with our annual hamper project:

1. Partner with us

We are always looking to partner with other local churches, businesses, charities and community groups as well as local government and healthcare providers. As a partner you might like to nominate families, pledge food, recruit drivers or sponsor hampers!

2. Sponsor a hamper

Anyone can support the Foodbank's ongoing work to end poverty and hunger in Bournemouth by sponsoring a hamper for £20. We aim to raise at least £4,000 each year!

3. Deliver hope

We need as many as 70 drivers and their vehicles to deliver Christmas hampers to the front door of families in crisis.

4. Join the team

It takes a large team to coordinate the delivery of 200 hampers! Find out how you might be able to play your part.
