1000s of Kingdom Moments
Becoming key players in God’s Mission in 2024…
In 2024, we want to facilitate that through encouraging, creating and capturing ‘1000s of Kingdom Moments’. These moments are each one of us taking an opportunity to partner with the Holy Spirit to see the Kingdom of God impact the life of someone who isn’t a follower of Jesus.
Why Kingdom Moments?
From your own salvation story, you will know that the ‘Salvation Moment’ came about as a culmination of multiple ‘Kingdom Moments’ - times when someone prayed for or with you, they reached out to you in times of difficulty, you were invited to a church event, someone gave you a playlist of worship songs, shared their faith story with you, loved you towards Jesus …. Take a moment to remember some of those Kingdom Moments that brought you into the Kingdom.
Partnering with God
We are privileged and mandated to partner with God in bringing that transformative power to those around us. This requires active participation, courage, intentionality, faith, stepping out of our comfort zone - all leading to the unparalleled joy of seeing someone’s life transformed for God’s glory.
Prayer, Care & Share
To bring about this vision and articulate what a Kingdom Moment might look like, we’re focussing on three key aspects that all of us can do, and also grow in - Prayer, Care, and Share. These are three key ways in which all of us can be active participants, step out in courage and faith, in the power of the Spirit - praying with a non-Christian, going out of your way to care for them, or sharing an invite, your story or faith with someone.
James recently moved into Poole, from a different country. At 85 years old he keeps himself active with regular walks around the neighbourhood. He recently started talking with someone who lives in an RV and within three meetings was invited to listen to the neighbour’s story, and James was able to share his story of becoming a follower of Jesus in boarding school in India.
Our Life Groups will play a central role in realising this vision and as we come together regularly, each one of us will have an opportunity to regularly share their missional Kingdom Moment experiences each week. This momentum will create a powerful ripple effect, resulting in 1000s of positive and transformative moments across the bay.
Consider this: If every single one of us that attends Citygate had just one Kingdom Moment in the year, that would be roughly 700 Kingdom Moments in the year! However, as we become more intentional, as we get equipped, as we step out in courage, we know there will 1000s of Kingdom Moment stories to tell.
So, you might wonder, what can you do to contribute to this vision? It’s a simple but powerful call to action:
1. Get excited! You, through Kingdom Moments, can be the catalyst for a Salvation Moment, just as someone was for you!
2. Get connected to, or stay connected with a Life Group - they are going to be key in providing you with support, encouragement and equipping for the Kingdom Moments that God is inviting you to participate in.
