Love BCP

  • Citygate Bournemouth 138A Holdenhurst Rd Bournemouth United Kingdom (map)

We, as a church community, will work together to serve and impact our town.

Our year of Kingdom Moments has gotten off to a great start. We don't want to lose this gathering momentum and, in fact, want to kick it up a gear. And what better way could be there than by loving and blessing the town we live in, in a mass and corporate way.

With that in mind, we are planning for a day - we've called - Love BCP, where we, as a church community, will work together in groups across the area to serve and impact our town. This could be in practical ways such as beach clean ups, foodbank collection, gardening, or could be groups that have a more spiritual focus like prayer walking, praying for people for healing, prophesying over people, or have a social impact such as blessing key workers in the area, organising beach games, care home visiting or face painting.

This will take place on 30 June 2024. There will be no formal Sunday meetings that day but will be a morning marked by various activities across BCP.

After our morning activities we’ll be having lunch together. Bournemouth will be meeting in Bournemouth Gardens, Southbourne will be meeting back at the building. Make sure you bring a picnic!

Love BCP: What should I expect?

We hope Love BCP will be fun! It's an opportunity to take a step out of our comfort zones and work together to love and serve our community.

What should I wear?

We would love everyone to wear one of our 'Love BCP' t-shirts. When you sign up you'll be able to order a t-shirt. There will be the option to give a donation for your t-shirt, if you feel able to. You'll be able to pick up your t-shirt on Sunday 23rd June - or on the day.

Other than that, please dress comfortably, watch the forecast and bring sun lotion or raincoats accordingly!

When and where are we meeting?

9.30am:  Meet at our Bournemouth or Southbourne buildings and find your team leader.

9.45am: We'll spend some time praying for the morning.

10.00am: We'll go out and begin our activities.

11.30am: We'll be heading back from our activities to have lunch together.

12.00pm: Bournemouth site will be meeting in Bournemouth Gardens for worship at the bandstand. Southbourne will be meeting back at the building. Make sure you bring a picnic!

Where can I park my car?

In Bournemouth you can park in Asda for 3 hours so it's a good place to start but you may need to move it to Bournemouth town centre if you are joining us for lunch.

In Southbourne there is limited parking at our sites, and some road parking nearby.

Public transport, car sharing, walking or cycling are great options on a day like this!

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! Although it would be helpful to know they are coming in advance to make sure we can manage team numbers.

What about food?

Have a good breakfast and bring a picnic for lunch.

Of course, you can always grab a coffee and lunch from Arch if you are at the Bournemouth site!

What if I have poor mobility, accessibility needs or don't feel able to do any of the activities?

Please consider signing up to the 'on-site prayer' activity at either site, you will be playing a very important part in the day!

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! We would love to see families on mission together! There are some activities that have been labelled 'family friendly' so look out for those.

If you are coming as a family you will be responsible for your children throughout the event and we understand that you may not be able to commit to the whole morning.

What if I have other questions?
