Citygate Southbourne meets every Sunday:

10.30am

Admiralty Road, Southbourne, BH6 4BJ

We don't know what your experience of church has been previously, if any at all, but we do know that it can be quite daunting trying something new for the first time.

We make our Sunday meetings as friendly and accessible as possible, and if you need help with anything at all you can ask one of our Welcome Team.

A young girl with a radiant smile is being baptised outdoors by a man and a woman dressed in vibrant African attire. Around the baptismal pool, the Southbourne Citygate congregation, including many children, gather to witness the joyful moment.
A large group from the Southbourne congregation, including several families, gather on the sunlit Southbourne clifftop for a picnic under clear blue skies.
A group of youth and children, some wearing fancy dress and playful hats, pose together on staging in front of a nativity stable scene.

    Worship

Our meetings start with a time of singing, praising God for everything that he's done for us. We have a full live band that will lead us for around 30 minutes or so. If you're unfamiliar with Christian worship then please don't feel under any pressure to do what everyone else is doing. Feel free to sit or stand, and join in as you wish.

  • A woman sings a spontaneous worship song into a microphone during a Sunday service at Citygate Church. She appears deeply engaged in the moment of worship, with a focused and expressive demeanour.

    Spiritual Gifts

We believe that the gifts of the spirit are for today and so encourage the use of spiritual gifts from God. We often invite members of the congregation to come and share a testimony, encouragement or word they might have received from God during the week. This might not be something you are familiar with, but one of the Elders will often explain what's being shared.

  • Two young boys, seen from behind, raise their right hands to their heads in a saluting gesture during an indoor group activity. The environment suggests a classroom or recreational space.

    Talk

Every week one of the leaders of the church, or a visiting speaker, will teach from the Bible for around 30 minutes. We try to be as relevant as we can, and tend to work through a series of messages that follow a book in the Bible or a particular theme applying the Bible to our lives today.
